Do you want to meet Marek Mlodzik, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, USA?

This message is sent on behalf of Víťa Bryja.

Dear colleagues,

in two weeks, I am hosting Marek Mlodzik from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, USA who will give a Mendel Lecture on Thursday, November 18th, 2021.

Marek Mlodzik in the past 20 years focused on the understanding of polarity in a tissue. He established basic molecular principles of Planar Cell Polarity – a mechanism that was found absolutely essential for the establishment and maintenenace of cell polarity and cell migration in multiple developmental and pathogenetic processes. Most recently his research focus also addresses the role of ciliary proteins in non-ciliated contexts, and the role of the ciliary transport complex in the cytoplasm. His studies also the mechanisms of how the Wnt and Notch signaling pathways interact in normal organogenesis and patterning and disease contexts, including cancer, neural tube closure defects, and ciliopathies.

Please let me know if you are interested in meeting Marek Mlodzik for discussions on Thursday 18th November 2021 during the day or if you want to join us for informal dinner on Thursday evening.

With best regards
Víťa Bryja
