  • Bradley A. Thayer, Ph.D., is a Professor of Political Science at the University of Iceland. He has been a Fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Security at Harvard University and will be a Visiting Fellow at Magdalen College, University of Oxford.
  • He has written on a large number of topics in international politics and international security, and has served as a consultant to the United States Department of Defense.
  • His research integrates a broad range of professional interests: international politics, including international relations theory; grand strategy; United States national security policy including nuclear deterrence, cyber warfare, proliferation, and terrorism; the rise of China; NATO and transatlantic relations; and insights derived from the life sciences into political-behavioral topics, including the origins of war and ethnic conflict and the dynamics of suicide terrorism.
  • His most recent book, co-authored with Brian M. Mazanec, is Deterring Cyber Warfare: Bolstering Strategic Stability in Cyberspace.
