Abstract:
Ribosome dimerization has traditionally been associated with translational silencing and hibernation. However, characterization of a recently discovered archaeal ribosome-associated factor revealed an unexpected role in promoting, rather than inhibiting, translation. These findings suggested that ribosome dimerization may serve broader regulatory functions, potentially supporting efficient protein synthesis and rapid adaptation to changing environmental conditions.
